Leora Lavina White

August 6, 1927 – March 1, 2018

Leora Lavina White, 90, of Loveland entered into eternal rest March 1, 2018, peacefully in her sleep.

Leora was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Berthoud, Colo., to Clarence E. and Ellen M. (Tummonds) Lucas. She was raised and attended schools in Berthoud.

Leora married her high school sweetheart, Clifford LaVerne White, on June 25, 1946, at her family’s home in Loveland. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary prior to his passing in 2006. They lived most of their married life in Colorado, with a short time in Arkansas. To this union, seven children were born.

She retired from Hewlett-Packard in 1989. Before that Leora worked as a cook, custodian, proof-reader, City of Loveland billing clerk, Avon Lady, and homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Leora was a member of Celebration Church, and she loved Jesus with all her heart.

She is survived by sister Maxine Ashcraft of Pueblo, Colo.; brother Vernon and wife Jean Lucas of Akron, Colo.; sons Jerry and wife Connie White of Asunción, Paraguay, and Jeff and wife Renee White of Aurora, Colo.; daughters Vickie and husband Richard Sheneman of Loveland, Colo., Susan Gilliland and companion Peter Kulsziski of Pueblo, Colo., Carol and husband Dave Morris of Erie, Colo., Judy and husband Joseph Benenate III of Kennewick, Wash., and Janet and husband David Rosenbaum of Hastings, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brother Harvey, and brother-in-law Leonard Ashcraft.

Visitation was from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at Allnutt Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, at Allnutt Hunter Chapel, with Pastor Jim Tracey officiating. Graveside services will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Celebration Church in care of Allnutt Hunter Chapel.
