Eat a meal, support the students
By Surveyor Staff
What a better way to provide a safe evening for local students than by eating a fabulous meal provided by several local eateries?
We can’t think of one. So get ready to purchase tickets to this year’s Berthoud After Prom Event progressive dinner, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28. There is a lasagna dinner with two seating times for dinner; the first is 5-7 p.m. and the second is from 7-9 p.m. at Trailhead Café.
Patrons can start the evening with a visit to both local breweries, City Star Brewing and Berthoud Brewing, for top-notch brews and appetizers. The Whistle Stop Café and Brick Oven offer two soups and fresh dinner rolls. After dinner at the Trailhead Café, patrons can chill at Da Bean and enjoy coffee and other sweet treats provided by Kettles Catering.
Tickets for the progressive dinner go on sale starting Monday, Feb. 9, and the cost is $30 per person or $50 per couple. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Christine Torres at 720-320-1405, or Judith Rugg at Berthoud High School at 613-7700.
Transportation between venues will also be available.
Funds raised through the progressive dinner go toward the BHS After Prom Event.
The After Prom Event is a fun, safe and substance-free event for students to participate in after the prom. Each year parents of the junior class come together and transform BHS into a safe environment for students.
This year’s After Prom Event theme is “Catch a Wave” and will be held on April 18, after the formal dance. There will be food, games, activities and door prizes provided free of charge to the BHS juniors, seniors and their dates.
“Through our After Prom Event, we plan to serve the ultimate mission by doing whatever possible to draw the teens in and reduce or eliminate the potential tragic loss of one of our youth on this wonderful and exciting night of celebration,” said After Prom Event chairperson, Maia Mattise-Lorenzen.
The event has become a positive tradition within the Berthoud community and has seen increased attendance each year, according to Mattise-Lorenzen.
The event is funded through monetary and material donations. Junior class parents volunteer to sponsor the event each year, but also need support from the surrounding communities. Interested sponsors can contact Maia Mattise-Lorenzen at 970-744-0037, or by email: [email protected].
