Berthoud Library hosting a murder mystery
By Surveyor Staff
If you enjoy mysteries, the Friends of the Berthoud Community Library District (FBCLD) have an event planned for you as they present The Sly Mr. Foxx: a murder mystery party. And its expected to be a very different but fun event, according to Berthoud Community Library Director Sara Wright.
Its a mingle party. They wont be sitting around reading scripts, Wright said. Even the murderer wont know until the final is clue is revealed.
Wright said anyone planning to attend is encouraged to dress the part as well, preferably in 1920s-era attire. There arent scripts or silly stunts; this is a genuine investigation that lets participants sleuth as a detective would, searching for the person who had the motive, means and opportunity to commit the murder.
Its just a way to have some fun, get dressed up, they dont have to dress up if they dont want to, but it makes it a little more fun, Wright said.
The Sly Mr. Foxx murder mystery party will be Friday, July 24, from 7-9 p.m. at the Berthoud Community Library. Tickets are $20 per person or $30 per couple. Tickets must be purchased in advance so the library staff knows all of the characters are taken. When people purchase tickets, theyll be able to choose a character and will receive an information packet that includes details of their characters roll for the evening. The event is open to adults 21 years and older.
They dont have to be a character, Wright said. They can come and just be dressed up in the 1920s style and just participate in the party, talk to people and try to solve the mystery.
The event is a fundraiser of the Friends of the Berthoud Community Library District for the librarys Summer Reading Program, according to Wright. And its designed to be, as everything else at the library, a whole lot of fun.
If you do choose to be a character, just come with a little bit prepared.
Tickets are available at Berthoud Community Library, 236 Welch Ave. For more information call 970-532-2757.
