Obituary – Lanny Brown

Lanny Brown of Berthoud passed away in March. Lanny was born in Michigan to Carl and Emily Brown, raised in Hazel Park, and graduated Hazel Park High School. After marrying Jeanette, he attended Orchards College.

Lanny became a journeyman carpenter, a licensed residential builder operating his own construction/remodel business, and a licensed real estate agent. He moved the family to Colorado after vacationing here and lived in several cities including Northglenn, Berthoud, Fort Collins, Loveland and Longmont.

For 40+ years, Lanny respected the mountains and enjoyed camping and hiking in them and photographing scenes in Rocky Mountain Park and Indian Peaks, especially the wonder of all the wild flowers. Through reading books he came to respect and support Native Americans. In his later years Lanny learned to play the guitar and enjoyed playing and singing a variety of music.

His parents preceded him in death. 

Lanny is survived by his wife of 55+ years ; his children; Lawrence (Leora) of Virginia, Loreen (Stephen) of British Columbia and grandchildren; Michael and Connie, brothers, Gary (Donna) of Michigan and Kenneth (Dorothy) of Colorado.

Lanny’s death resulted from complications and severe damage of a butchered sinus/nose surgery in 2015 at a Loveland Surgery Center. He became another victim of the medical system which is the hidden third-leading cause of death in the U.S.A. Cremation was entrusted to Allnutt Funeral Chapel in Loveland. Burial will follow at Loveland Lakeside Cemetery. Private family services will be held.
