Courtesy photo – On Sept. 17 at Berthoud’s own TPC Colorado Golf Course, the first annual Spartan Classic golf tournament was held to benefit the Berthoud High School (BHS) boys and girls golf programs. The tournament was a huge success, bringing in over $21,000 that will be used for equipment and uniforms. A committee has been established to use remaining funds each year to provide BHS golfers with college scholarships. TPC Colorado will now serve as the Berthoud golf teams’ home course, and the plan is to make the Spartan Classic an annual event. Seventeen teams participated in the inaugural tournament that also included a silent auction. The event was put on thanks to tremendous help from the Berthoud Lions Club, Alair Homes, and Napa Auto Parts of Berthoud.
