Berthoud Local Farmers’ Market season kicks off in Fickel Park

The Berthoud Local Farmers Market is kicking off its third season on Saturday, June 25, with a move to Fickel Park and a roster of more than 30 farmers, food vendors, artisans and local businesses. The market runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through the end of September.

This year’s market builds on a successful 2015 season that saw customer attendance increase and more than doubled vendor numbers. Annie and Bob DeCoteau, owners of RISE Artisan Breads state, “Our family is excited to share our freshly baked loaves, artisan pretzels, garlic naan, focaccia and pastries at the Berthoud Local Farmers Market. Moving to Fickel Park promises to make the market a “destination” for the local community. Families will be able to linger while enjoying their food and live music.”

The farmers’ market is a great place for the community to gather, in addition to buying good, healthy food from local farmers. This year the market will host to a series of special theme days, including Kids Day on July 9, Beet Day on July 30, Dog Day on Aug. 13, Wellness Day on Sept. 10, and The Farm Stand Band with City Star on Sept. 24. Front Range Rally is also partnering with the market on July 16 and Aug. 20 with beer and food trucks.

“The Town of Berthoud is excited for the Berthoud Local Farmers’ Market’s move to Fickel Park.” said Walt Elish, Berthoud business development manager. “I believe the market helps to promote our small businesses and local agriculture while building a sense of place for our downtown.”

Vendor registration and market information is available at www.berthoudlocal.org or in the Berthoud Local booth at the farmers’ market. As a volunteer-run organization, Berthoud Local is always interested in volunteers and new board members. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering.
