OBITUARIES

Judith Ann Lehn: Nov. 30, 1940 – April 17, 2014

Judy transitioned to another place last Thursday. Judy was born in Denver and lived and worked there for Denver RTD in the marketing department. She and her husband Don moved to Berthoud about 15 years ago. A memorial service is being planned and the date will be announced. Details will be provided in the Surveyor.

Damon Gary Hughes: Sept. 30, 1970 - April 16, 2014

Beloved husband, son and brother, Damon Gary Hughes, went home to be with his Lord on April 16, 2014. Damon was born on Sept. 30, 1970, and from the age of three, he grew up in Johnstown, attending Johnstown schools until his sophomore year. He graduated from Berthoud High School in 1989 and from the University of Northern Colorado in 1993, with his bachelor's degree in business. He was employed by Corden Pharmaceuticals (formerly Syntex and Roche) in Boulder since 1994. Damon was an avid outdoorsman. From the age of two he enjoyed family camping and fishing, and added hunting, boating, water skiing and four-wheeling, and even landscaping, as he grew into the wonderful man and father that he was. He loved spending time in his workshop, building, fixing and creating, following all the lessons he was taught by his father. Damon was a dedicated body builder. He also had a great love for Colorado and especially the Rocky Mountains. He always regretted not becoming the mountain man he wanted to be. He will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. His smile, his kindness, his outgoing personality, his passion for life and his love of family and friends will always be cherished. Damon is survived by his spouse Nicole Hughes; three step-daughters, Mary Ashley Avery (Jeff), Madison and Bailey Cain; parents, Robert and Ann Hughes; sister, Jodi Black (Jerry); three nephews, Jameson and Kyle Sherwood and Jacob Black, and many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends. A service of resurrection hope will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the United Methodist Church of Johnstown. There will be a luncheon reception at the church immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105, donors@stiude.orq, or stjude.org.
